Unfortunately I do not have experience with these modules. I did, however, reply to your post so i feel compelled to at least try to help. Have you tried using the SmartRF Studio application to configure your devices? Also, here is a link to the forums that seem to discuss these radios.

I think one of the problem people will encounter for converting the pic16 firmware to c18 is cc1000 the fact that the C code written for pic for cc is for CCS or PICC which I don’t remember but are not compatible with C If I don’t remember the wrong, the problem is the syntax of union structure in which the firmware used a lot in the header file to define the bits of register.
